History of Home SPA

With the hectic pace of life, it becomes more important to rejuvenate your body, mind and soul every day. But finding the time and a convenient way to do this may seem like a luxury beyond your reach. Water is a source of life on earth. 65% of the human body is composed of water. Water is also an important medium via which nutrients are transported and waste products eliminated in the body. As such, hydrotherapy is recognized as an excellent complementary treatment by many established health institutions worldwide. The word "SPA" is an acronym for the Latin phrase "Solus Per Aqua", meaning "Health via water". It refers to the concept of immersing the body in water to maintain and restore health.

Sebastian Kneipp, the "Father of hydrotherapy", once said that with the correct combination of water and herbs, almost any illness could be treated.

Father Sebastian Kneipp, a Bovarian priest was able to get complete recovery from his tuberculosis by taking cold bath several times in Danube River. This treatment enables him to stimulate his physical stamina or immune system, so much that his illness went into remission. Among his patients were Pope Leo XIII; Prince of Wales, later King Edward VIII; Empress Fredericka of Germany; Empress Elizabeth of Austria; Baron Rothschild; Benedict Lust, etc. His book, "My Water Cure" system was tested for more than 40 yeras and published for the cure of diseases and for the preservation of health. This book was also suggested to young and old, rich and poor, high and low as to how they should make use of water and herbs, and how by various applications be able to relieve aches and pains in the human body.

 Father of hyrodetherapy :Sebastian Kneipp
Born in 1821, the son of a poor weaver in the Bavarian region of Germany, Sebastian Kneipp’s ambition was to join the priesthood. During his theological studies he was taken ill with pulmonary tuberculosis, at that time a fatal disease. By chance, a small book on hydrotherapy, authored in 1734 by Dr. Hahn, found its way into his hands, which motivated him to take short full – immersion dips in the icy waters of winter Danube. The treatment enabled him to stimulate his physical stamina, or immune system, so much that his tuberculosis went into remission and he was able to complete his studies Dr Sebastian Kneipp (Stephansried, Germany, May 17, 1821 – June 17, 1897 in Worishofen, Germany) was one of the founders of the Naturopathic medicine movement. He is most commonly associated with the “Kneipp Cure” form of hydrotherapy, a system of healing involving the application of water through various methods, temperatures and pressure. In Norway he is mostly known for his bread recipe, Kneipp Bread.

Kneipp Hydrotherapy 1890

Although most commonly associated with one area of Naturopathic medicine, Kneipp was the proponent of an entire system of healing, which rested on five main tenets:
1) Hydrotherapy
2) Herbalism – The use of botanical medicines.
3) Exercise
4) Nutrition – A wholesome diet of whole grains, fruits and vegetables with limited meat.
5) Spirituality – Kneipp believed that a healthy mind begot a healthy person

During his time in Bad Worishofen, Kneipp was able to counsel many people. Tens of thousands came from all over the world to receive his healing advice. He was the author of the books “My Water Cure”, “Thus Shalt Thou Live”, and “My Will”.

For centuries man has known of the healing power of hydrotherapy. Before the modern portable spa, people have enjoyed the relief of pain and tension offered by natural hot springs.

Buoyancy:
When submerged in water, your body is about 1/10 its normal weight. Buoyancy is the key element of relaxation and stress relief. It helps overcome the effects of gravity and relieves stress on the joint.

In Europe, especially built basins along roads, in the forest, on hiking trails and in spa sanatoriums are used to collect cold water from streams or rivers. If you have hot, swollen or sweaty feet after hikes, stepping high (stork walking) through the basin until the cold water almost hurts is a wonderful, refreshing experience. Naturally, this can be done in rivers, streams or lakes, or in the bathtub! Bladder and prostate problems are contraindications.

We have all seen hot tubs and whirlpools in recreational centers, on cruise ships, beside swimming pools or even in some homes. Sometimes you will see a warning: “Do not use pool longer than 10 minutes”. Hardly anybody follows this advice – some people sit for an hour in the very hot water. This is strongly discouraged as it removing the natural oils from the skin, and the blood pressure might sink to a dangerously low level and fainting or even a stroke could result.

Produced by high frequency accelerant built in the machine, the Home SPA - SG2000 emits a constant output of ozone at 0.05 ppm (German FDA Standard), effectively sterilizing, sanitizing and deodorizing all substance that it comes in contact with. It also enhances the vitality of cells, remove cuticle, smoothens and whitens skin. Most importantly he disinfecting ability of ozone is more than 3000 times more germicidal than chlorine. The machine generates an air output of 46 liters per sec. Charged with negative ions, (measured at 5000 negative ions per cubic centimeter, and freshens the air (air quality equivalent better than that of forest bath). Using advanced technology, PU and fine bio-ceramic fiber are blended and integrate into one finished bath mat. It magnetizes water and at the same time softens water, is friendly to the skin & at the same time enhances blood circulation. The explosions of more than a million strong bubbles colliding with each other every second emits natural occurring ultrasonic waves, and generate 10,000 – 15,000 micro tremors energy per sec.
